Home. Hogar

People use to say that Home is where you -or your heart- is. To me home is where I am, where I have been and where I will be -or not- sometime. It is also where friends and family live. Home is a place, is people, and it is what there is in our hearts. To make the world home is not so easy for me actually, who have been living in different places, cultures and languages -even if this looks contradictory- is a "état de esprit", a feeling, that I may have just for few moments once in a while or can guide my life. It has to be spontaneous though. I try to have a "light heart" , only then I feel at home in space and time. And you?

La gente suele decir que el hogar es donde estas o donde tu corazón esta (que no siempre es el mismo lugar) Para mi, mi casa es donde estoy, donde he estado y donde estaré -o no- en algún momento. También es donde mi familia y amigos viven. El hogar es un lugar, es la gente, y donde nuestro corazón va. Hacer del mundo nuestro hogar no es tan fácil para mi, sobre todo después de haber vivido en distintos lugares con culturas y lenguas diferentes, -aunque parezca una contradicción- es un "état de esprit", un sentimiento, que puedes tener por momentos de vez en cuando o puede guiar tu vida. Tiene que ser espontaneo. Trato de tener el "corazón ligero", solo entonces me siento en casa en espacio y tiempo. Y tu?

I'm thinking Christmas since......September!

empiezo a pensar en Navidad desde ...Septiembre!

At this time of the year I start dreaming.....well...the other times I just pretend I'm not. I start to see things in another way. The magic unfolds everywhere, nature talk to me and unveil some secrets...I start looking natural decorations everywhere, and think about cookies, tea nights, snow (no, not to much around here...but some...maybe) gifts, tables well dressed, and many tales and stories from very different places. I have them all inside me, as well as all the people I love that are somewhere else. I have celebrated Christmas in many places, in Venezuela you even buy a pine tree as well as the national decorations and put some fake snow in!!!....is always summer there...Most of my Christmas I spent there
In Australia will be summer as well, and in Rimouski (Québec) you will have meters of snow already. In Mallorca will be sunny and mild. B.C. in Canada will be rainy...My heart will be also in Texas the mildest winter happens there. and here in France, you just don't know but cold probably and we will have chimney wood fires.

I have an enormous lists of gifts, small and big for people to choose. but secret ones as well. I put them in a secret place , dream about them and ask Love to spread everywhere to each people in the world. Love changes hearts, for good, always. keep trying.

En este momento del año, empiezo a soñar, el resto del tiempo pretendo no hacerlo..Es un momento en que empiezo a ver las cosas de otra manera, la magia se perfila en todas partes y me cuenta sus secretos. Por todas partes veo decoraciones naturales y empiezo a pensar en galletitas, innumerables tazas de té, nieve (no, aquí no hay mucha...pero tal vez con un poco de suerte) regalos, mesas vestidas de fiesta, familia, amigos, y muchas, muchas historias de todas partes del mundo. Todas estas dentro de mi, asi como la gente que quiero que no vive aquí.
He pasado la Navidad en lugares muy diferentes, la mayoría en Venezuela, con nacimientos típicos y también arbolitos con nieve artificial! allí es verano tooooooooooooooooodo el tiempo.
En Australia será verano también, y en Rimouski (Québec) habrá ya metros de nieve brillante. En Mallorca estará soleado y tibio y en B.C. (Canada) lloverá tal vez. Mi corazón estará también en Texas, el invierno mas dulce del planeta. Aquí en Francia no se sabe pero probablemente frio así que tendremos fuego de chimenea.

Siempre tengo una lista enorme de regalos, pequeños y grandes para que la gente tenga donde escoger. También tengo una lista de deseos secreta, la escondo muy bien y sueño con ellos, pido que el amor le llegue a todos y cada uno en el mundo. el amor cambia los corazones, siempre de una buena forma. Sigan tratando.

otro fin de semana divertido

Light: plenty. Love as well. Laughs. Looking forband finding treasures: dolls, letters....old dresses and costumes! bobbin laces makers (looks awesome but difficult) boxes, luggage, etc, etc, etc. Lots of tea times. Good food eaten in the garden.

To wash tissues and dresses, taking out the dust, to dress dolls, play, inventing stories. To put everything back in a chest for somebody to find again in the future....

beautiful light and weather. sunny meals. boats raises. new friends. yoga classes. new lens! (50mm, f1.8) love, lots. days develop peacefully, keeping nice memories in a treasure chest to take them out when needed.

luz bella. clima perfecto. comidas luminosas. carreras de barcos. amigos nuevos. clases de yoga. un objetivo nuevo para mi cámara (el 50mm f 1.8) amor, mucho. dias que se destejen tranquilamente, guardando memorias en el baúl de tesoros para cuando se necesiten.

another weeked. otro fin de semana.

It looks like I live in the country side...but no...I live in a small charming city by the sea, but my in laws do :) not so far from us, quite different place with caws (they just come to eat at heir fields beside the house), plums trees and even some chickens to have very fresh eggs!
We usually go with children in the early morning to see how many we can find, bring them to the house and write the date with a pencil. They will be good to eat the day after!

Parece como si viviera en el campo, pero no...vivo en una ciudad pequeña al lado del mar, pero mis suegros si, no muy lejos de nosotros, un lugar bastante diferente con vacas (prestadas, vienen solo a pastar al campo de al lado), arboles de ciruelas e incluso unas pocas gallinitas para tener huevos frescos!
Generalmente vamos con niños a buscarlos tempranito en la mañana a ver cuantos podemos encontrar, los traemos a la casa y anotamos la fecha. Estarán listos para comerse al dia siguiente!

toco el agua. alguien mas la toca del otro lado del océano. un dia ambas ondas se encontraran.

ir a una Isla en un dia soleado de mar tranquilo. 45 minutos en barco. zapatitos brasileros. gente dandonos la bienvenida. comamos ostras y pescados! y......PRIMER dia de meterse en el agua en el 2011!! un poco fria pero deliciosa! regresar a casa en barco. dormir como bebés.

Primavera. Spring.

Spring is here. the pace is different for each being though. some are blooming, some just start awaking up, some others plenty inside. anyhow spring is there. some have the mood in their coat, girls laugh ant take pictures to each other and...to me! "fifi" dogs walk their owners and LOVE specially. Blooming, everybody is.

La primavera esta aqui,cada quién entra a paso diferente , algunos de lleno y en plena floración, otros tímidos con apenas brotes. de cualquier modo, la Primavera ya esta aquí. se ve. para algunos es escoger el abrigo ligero color flor de cerezo, tomarse fotos con risas (incluso a mi!), perritos "fifi" paseando a sus dueños . AMOR especialmente. Floreciendo, todos.
La temperatura (21°C) acompaño este paseo. me sentí Flor. :)

Antes nunca tomaba té
I never drank tea before

Antes, quiere decir cuando vivía en Venezuela, allí el clima es tropical y ademas producimos muy buen café.
Ahora me tomo un cafecito en la mañana y luego té, es una manera de tomar liquido sin sed en invierno, de calentarse cuando hace frío o de compartir galletitas -o scones! los adoro- y una buena conversación con algun amigo. Antes tenia una "teoría" (tengo muchas...) : que la gente que toma café preferirá siempre un helado de chocolate a uno de fresa (tienen que ser helados) y la gente que toma té preferirá el de fresa. Es casi obvio saber porqué. No funciona siempre pero en general si, y tu? qué tomas y qué prefieres?

By before I mean when living in Venezuela, it is tropical weather there and we produce a very good coffee. Now I have a small coffee in the morning (I can not think or do anything before that) and then tea. It is a way to drink even when you are not thirsty, get warm in winter time and share some biscuits -or scones! love them- and good conversation with some friends.

I had a kind of "theory" before (have lots actually) : That people that drinks coffee will prefer a chocolate ice cream instead of a strawberry one (it has to be ice creams) when confronted with this choice and the opposite, "tea persons" will prefer the strawberry one. What about you? Are you a coffee or a tea person and which ice cream would you choose?

Venezuela & Francia.

Bonpland nació en La Rochelle. Era botánico y visitó con Humboldt Venezuela, nunca estuvo en Los Andes, pero el tercer pico mas alto de Venezuela se llama como él. Y yo (botánica en otra vida) ahora vivo en Francia.

Una combinación muy particular de francés y venezolana da unas arepas mejor hechas (toque de chef) y nuevas mezclas, la ideal es foigras con mango y aguacate...(casi tan buena como una con queso guayanés, diablito y aguacate)

Y esto son hallacas "mal amarradas" las hice en recuerdo de un día como hoy hace 11 años cuando ocurrió la tragedia de Vargas. Allí estaba yo con mi familia y mi esposo francés. Recordando hoy a todas las familias que no tuvieron la misma suerte.
